Bunnies for Easter

There are many explanations for the origin of the Easter bunny, just as there are many versions of the relationship between the rabbit and the egg. One of these comes from Germanic mythology. According to this, Ostara was the goddess of spring and fertility, and also the best friend of children. To dazzle the children, the goddess transformed one of her birds into a rabbit. This rabbit laid brightly colored eggs, which the goddess gave to the children.
